Position Summary:
Kinestral Technologies is seeking a motivated Production Chemist to support a top-notch team of scientists and engineers in creating next generation dynamic glass. The primary responsibility of the position will be to oversee formulation production. This position is located in Hayward, CA.
Job Responsibilities:
- Managing chemical production of multiple formulation lines
- Creating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and other documentation associated with production
- Maintaining operator training and scheduling
- Maintaining up-to-date and complete batch records and laboratory notebook
- Managing raw materials and consumables to meet supply and quality demands
- Validating incoming materials, WIP and production using statistical methods including SPC
- Maintaining reactor systems and chemical production workspaces
- Product ownership of multiple formulations
- Responsible for process improvements and development projects
- Ownership of Management of Change and Factory Qualification
- Management of excursions and near misses through RCCA process
- Liaison with Product Testing / Failure Analysis / R&D / Device Factory
Requirements:
- Education: BS/MS in Chemistry or Chemistry-related discipline (e.g. Organic/Inorganic Chemistry, ChemE, Materials Science, Polymer Science, etc.)
- Experience: 7 years or more preferred in chemical processing/production
- Thorough knowledge of polymer systems and analytical techniques including UV-Vis, FT-IR, TGA, NMR, XRD, KF, Rheology
- A strong commitment to laboratory safety
Ideal candidate will also have:
- Broad experience with chemical production (polymers, molecular and solid precursors, coating formulations, etc.) for commercial products.
- Familiarity with Labview or other HMI data collection systems
- Familiarity with database systems, Tableau, and/or JMP
