Market and Channel Strategy Manager

Position Summary:

We are seeking a very talented business executive to play a key role in the market development of our technology. This is a very exciting opportunity to work on the commercialization strategy of a high impact technology. This person would refine and own the company’s business case for various consumer sub-segments. In addition this person would refine and own the channel strategy for the company. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker, good problem solver, with a passion for new product commercialization strategy. We would give preference to experience in channel strategy and market segmentation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with the business team to refine market segmentation for product launch and volume ramp up
  • Prioritize market sub-segments to maximize Kinestral’s value capture opportunity
  • For each of the target market segments, build a business case and execution plan for product adoption
  • Refine the business case while working with thought leaders and key stakeholders in each of the sub segments.
  • Map the product buying decision making process, identify points of decision making for product adoption, and identify key influencers and their incentive structure. Build a plan for Kinestral influence within the value chain.
  • Build on the current understanding of demand drivers of product adoption by consumers with the goal to refine the product positioning and marketing plan
  • Leverage key stakeholder relationships in each market segments to build and execute Kinestral channel strategy: identify potential channel partners, evaluate channel economics and compatibility with Kinestral business case, evaluate strategic fit of potential channel partners and develop execution plan to ensure volume ramp up

In addition, this person would have a chance to contribute to the marketing, branding plan and all other fun opportunities which a small growing start up presents

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree required. (Degree in sciences/engineering or business management a plus)
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience (business strategy, market and channel development) required.
  • Market segmentation: Past experience in market segmentation for a consumer products. Identifying and prioritizing relevant metrics for segmentation in a market, evaluating market characteristics on those metrics, analyzing these market characteristics to identify key market segments for Kinestral to target
  • Channel strategy: Past experience in defining a channel strategy which supports the product value proposition and other business objectives (capital efficiency, control of the value chain, brand impact etc.)
  • Market data analysis: proficient in working with excel (pivot tables, synthesizing large data sets etc.)
  • Familiarity with building products, architecture spaces a plus

  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to use standard office applications (Word, Excel, Email)
