EH&S; Manager

Kinestral Technologies, Inc. is a well-funded early stage technology company developing novel materials, processes and products to enter the energy/building materials market with differentiated dynamic glass products that enable a step change reduction in building energy consumption at a price point that will drive broad market adoption. These building material products address a fast growing demand for energy efficiency while EH&S Manager to support our top-notch team of scientists and engineers. This full time position will be located in South San Francisco and Hayward, CA.

The ideal candidate will:

Responsibilities include:

  • Driving EH&S performance, including tactical and strategic improvement efforts involving: Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, Environmental and Occupational Health
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining plant EH&S programs, practices, and procedures
  • Training associates in related EH&S practices
  • Leading or participating in EH&S process and equipment reviews to establish appropriate controls
  • Collecting, analyzing, and reporting EH&S metrics
  • Coordinating with teams to ensure data collection and compliance with environmental programs
  • Submitting environmental permits and amendments as required by Federal, State, and local regulatory agencies
  • Acting as a point of contact with various regulatory agencies, consultants, contractors, attorneys, etc.
  • Conducting or participating in incident investigations and identifying corrective and preventive actions
  • Partnering with Occupational Health for effective Case Management involving injured/ill associates
  • Partnering with the facility’s leadership team to continually improve and maintain emergency-response procedures

 

Required Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S), Ergonomics, or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of EH&S experience in industry
  • Strong chemical processing and hazardous materials experience
  • Relevant experience working in large scale glass manufacturing and assembly facilities
  • Demonstrated success in identifying, assessing and controlling ergonomic issues
  • Proven problem solving skills including incident investigation and root cause analysis
  • CSP Certification by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals
  • Experience in/with:
    • Industrial hygiene, and/or hazardous waste programs
    • Cleanrooms
    • Process/equipment hazard risk analysis tools
    • California Workers Compensation
    • California EH&S regulations
