Position Summary:
Kinestral seeks a talented, responsible, hands-on process engineer to help make the world’s most responsive smart-tinting glass. As part of a multidisciplinary R&D team, you will support materials and process development in both research and production environments. Secondary projects to grow the organization will supplement your core work.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering tasks to help develop, implement and validate new material sets within existing processes
- Execute process experiments to improve materials & process performance
- Assist in the design of experiments to optimize materials and processes for improved performance cost reduction
- Document and organize information needed to create detailed records of results
- Assemble and maintain the equipment necessary for R&D support
- Safe execution of activities in a production environment
Skills and Experience:
- B.S. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related discipline
- Process development and optimization experience, formal SPC training desired
- Ability to complete tests and creatively resolve problems as part of a team as well as in an unattended manner
The ideal candidate will also have:
- Experience with thin-film coating and processing
- Understanding of equipment wiring, mechanics, and instrument operation, plumbing, etc.
- Ability to demonstrate adaptability, effectiveness, and growth in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to use standard office applications (Word, Excel, Email)
- SQL database, SPC, JMP, Tableau are a plus
