Quality Manager

Job Description:

Kinestral seeks a talented, hands-on Quality Manager to help make the world’s most responsive smart-tinting glass. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will help create and lead our quality activities in our commercial chemical production facility in Hayward, CA. The Quality Manager is responsible for assuring quality across all elements of the chemical manufacturing process. The Quality Manager will be tasked with establishing and institutionalizing the core elements of Kinestral’s Global Quality Management Systems within our chemical production facility. Candidates should be forward-looking individuals with a track record of building Quality organizations and effectively collaborating with R&D engineers and scientists

Job Responsibilities:

● Manage the Change Control Board and process ECOs
● Manage the Chemical Materials Review Board and process dispositions
● Work with development and process engineers to identify and prevent quality risks through control plans, statistical methods, and robust inspection and metrology
● Collaborate with Manufacturing Team and QC Analytical Team to support and document the conformity of incoming raw materials, work-in-progress and finished goods
● Manage corrective actions (RCCA, SCAR)
● Participate in QITs within the business unit
● Track and report on key quality metrics, drive improvements through Quality Initiatives
● Work with our supply team to establish process for incoming material control and manage supplier quality issues including compliance documentation


● BS, MS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related Physical Sciences
● Min 10 years work experience in Quality
● Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment required
● Ability to excel in fast-paced production environments and to navigate ambiguity
● Self-starter who will lead bring a Quality Vision to a new organization
● High proficiency with statistical process control
● Strong data analysis skills – data driven approach to problem solving
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to propose solutions and justifications to technical teams
● High standards in ethics, safety, work ethic, team work, and execution
● JMP, Tableau, and SQL proficiency are a plus
